FROM THE TRENCHES OF CAMEROON TO THE PROMISE OF CANADA
February 2025. I still remember stepping off that plane in Canada. Fresh immigrant from Cameroon. Full of hope. Ready to conquer.
Then reality hit.
This is my story of immigrant financial freedom through crypto – how I discovered cryptocurrency and blockchain as my path to breaking free from the endless work-sleep-bills cycle that traps so many of us.
Within weeks of arriving, I found myself in what I now call “the cycle” – wake up, work, eat, sleep, pay bills, save a little if you’re lucky, repeat. Day after day after day.
Now before you think I’m complaining, let me be clear: I’m GRATEFUL. Coming from Cameroon, being able to work a job, pay my bills, and actually save $1,000 CAD every month? That’s not just an opportunity – that’s a miracle. Thank God. Thank Canada. Thank my family for making this possible.
But here’s what kept me up at night…
THE QUESTION THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
I’m an introvert. I spend a lot of time in my head, thinking, analyzing, observing patterns. And I couldn’t shake this feeling: “Is this it? Did I come all this way just to trade one struggle for another?”
There’s a saying about America – “the land of opportunity, where dreams come true.” For me, Canada is that land. But I realized something important: opportunity doesn’t mean anything if you don’t have a clear dream to chase.
So I asked myself the hard question: “What’s my ACTUAL dream life?”
My answer was simple but powerful:
Freedom to work from anywhere – as long as I have internet, I’m good
Time to be present – I want to be home to teach my future kids, pass down my values, prepare them for this world
A family rooted in love and God – a wife who values family and faith as much as I do
Living on my terms – not someone else’s schedule
As of writing this, I don’t have any of these things yet. But you know what I DO have? God. Myself. My siblings. And most importantly – a PLAN.
THE MONEY REVELATION
One of my hobbies is reading. Business books. Marketing books. Personal development. But especially books about MONEY.
Through all that reading, I learned the fundamental rules of money:
- Find a way to earn
- Save a portion of your earnings
- Find a way to MULTIPLY those savings
- Create multiple income streams
- Protect what you’ve built
That third one hit different: MULTIPLY your savings.
See, I could save $1,000 CAD every month. That’s good. But it’s not enough to break the cycle. I needed that money to work harder than I was working.
So I started researching. And that’s when I stumbled back into something I’d known about for years: Cryptocurrencies.
THE CRYPTO AWAKENING
Real talk – I knew about Bitcoin back in Cameroon. We ALL knew about it. Every young person trying to make it knew crypto was THE path to financial freedom for Africans.
But here’s the brutal truth: where is a broke kid from the trenches of Cameroon supposed to get capital to invest in BTC long-term? How do you trade crypto when you’re just trying to survive?
It was a dream. A beautiful, impossible dream.
Then God brought the idea back to my mind during my first year in Canada. Except this time, it wasn’t impossible anymore. I had income. I had savings. I had ACCESS.
I saw it clearly: Crypto trading. Long-term investing. Blockchain. AI. These weren’t just industries – they were my TICKET to the dream life I’d defined.
MY PATH TO IMMIGRANT FINANCIAL FREEDOM THROUGH CRYPTO
Here’s another hobby of mine: research. I LOVE going down rabbit holes on my laptop. Searching for answers. Gathering information. Following smart people on X. Connecting dots. Learning.
But as I dove deeper into crypto, I realized something…
I’m not the only African immigrant in this position.
I know YOUR struggle because it’s MY struggle too.
You’re working 2 jobs. Grinding 16-hour days. Sending money to family, relatives, and friends back home. Trying to build a new life here while supporting the old one there. The idea of “chasing freedom” or “following your dreams” feels like a luxury you simply can’t afford.
Not YET, anyway.
That’s why I rebranded myself as Elong3Investor. This isn’t just a name – it’s a lens. My way of seeing money, cryptocurrencies, trading, long-term investing, blockchain, and AI.
But more than that, it’s about using ALL these tools to take back the one thing we’ve lost in the cycle:
Our TIME.
Your time is your most valuable asset. When you control your time, everything else unlocks – happiness, creativity, passion, presence. You stop just surviving and start actually LIVING.
MY APPROACH TO CRYPTO
I’m building a diversified portfolio focused on established projects and emerging AI/blockchain technologies. I’m not just throwing money at random coins hoping to get rich quick.
My strategy combines:
Long-term accumulation – Building positions in solid projects I believe in for the long haul
Active trading – Buying and selling other tokens by studying market trends, chart patterns, and employing various strategies I’ve learned and tested
Continuous research – Following industry leaders, reading whitepapers, understanding the technology, not just the hype
Risk management – Never investing more than I can afford to lose, diversifying across different sectors
Through my blog and X account, I’ll be sharing the specific coins I’m accumulating, the trades I’m making, my analysis process, and most importantly – the lessons I learn from both my wins AND my losses.
Because real growth comes from transparency, not just showing the highlights.
WHAT IMMIGRANT FINANCIAL FREEDOM THROUGH CRYPTO MEANS TO ME
For me, immigrant financial freedom through crypto isn’t just about making money. It’s about:
Time freedom – Working when and where I want, not being controlled by a schedule
Family freedom – Being present to teach and guide my future kids
Location freedom – Not being tied to one place or one job
Financial security – Building wealth that lasts and protects my family
Purpose freedom – Having the resources and time to help others do the same
This is what I’m building toward, one trade and one investment at a time. It’s not a sprint – it’s a marathon. And I’m documenting every step.
